I’ve been very creative over the past few weeks. So creative, in fact, that I have spent very little time journaling, and most of my time being creative. Which sucks for you, as readers, but it wonderful for me as an artist.

I keep meaning to sit down and write about Bella’s 5th birthday party, which we went to the first weekend in August. I wanted to write about how proud I am to have such a smart, beautiful, sweet niece, and how moving back to Anderson has been a life changing experience for me because I get to be a full time Aunt.

Being an Aunt is much more fun than being a mother. An Aunt is adored, and can buy ridiculously extravagant gifts without feeling guilty about spoiling the child. An Aunt gets greeted with a happy dance and song when she walks into the room, and gets hand drawn pictures to put on her fridge at least twice monthly. And Aunts very rarely have to wipe butts or noses. Being an Aunt rocks.

Especially when you’re Bella’s Aunt Beth.

The day of her 5th birthday party Uncle Basil and I had a garage sale. And Uncle Basil found this picture in a book that he was about to sell in the garage sale for a quarter.

Later that day, we took Beckett and went to Kid City and watched a very grown up , just about to turn 5 years old, Bella jump and run, and play with her friends from school. She is starting KINDERGARTEN tomorrow, and it’s just amazing how much she’s grown and changed. She’s growing into a wonderful girl who still doesn’t like peanut butter, but loves Ranch dressing. She is an artist, and loves to draw and paint and sculpt. She is self confident and can talk with you about anything you like. She’s never been one to throw temper tantrums, and laughs at herself when she makes a mistake. She is a wonderful person now, and I can’t wait to see where she goes and what she will become.

I’ll be up bright and early tomorrow morning to take pictures of her in her school uniform on her first day of kindergarten. Our beautiful Bella is a big girl now.
