I’m in Debt Up to My Eyeballs…

Monday, March 6th, 2006

This weekend my mother and I kept joking about that television commercial where the guy is driving his riding lawnmower in front of his gigantic house, and talking about his fabulous house, cars, kids private educations, etc, and he asks, “How do I do it?”

(insert plastic smile and blank stare)

“I’m in debt up to my eyeballs.”

“Somebody help me.”

I don’t think that any other scenario makes this commerical quite as hitting a little too close to home as buying a new house and getting a mortgage.

One of the things I’m looking most forward to in the new house is having more than one bathroom. I don’t think I have to go into graphic detail about why married couples need to have more than one bathroom, but my real desire for having a second bathroom is so that I can create a little pampering haven of my very own.

You know what I’m talking about. A place where you walk in, and it feels over the top and decadent and that’s a GOOD thing. A little place with yummy smelling soaps from you know where! A room that’s all about refreshing your body and spirit with a long hot shower with a massaging shower head, and then slipping into a ridiculously thick and soft chocolate brown towel that coordinates beautifully with you fuzzy pink slippers.

I can’t talk about it here, or Basil will find out about my plan to transform the bathroom into a Parisian style boutique where the only currency exchanged is relaxation, and the only sounds you’ll hear are giggles from inside the shower as body bits are being massaged by jets of hot water and Edith Piaf is piped in from every direction!

Do you think he’ll notice everything is pink?
