I’m taking two weeks off starting at the beginning of September. I have never taken two weeks off from my job, and while I’m excited, I’m also terrified of the e-mail that I know will PILE UP while I am away from my desk. I’m going to be away from the office for 11 work days and something like 8 weekend days! Amazing. I don’t know what to do with myself. But I think I can think of a million things!

I need this time off really badly. To say that I am burned out would be the understatement of the century. While I want to relax and not even think about work, there are a few projects around the house that I would like to get done. Here are a few of them…

1. Hang the puppets in my office. For the past few years, I’ve dreamed of hanging my Indonesian puppet collection in my office or in my bedroom. When we moved into the new house, I painted my office red, and kept the room sparce for the puppets. I still haven’t hung them. It’s been 6 months! So, I’d like to take a day and hang the shelves and put up the puppets.

2. Hang artwork. All of our artwork is leaning against the walls. I’d like to see it on the walls!

3. Hang a mirror somewhere low enough for Beckett to use. He’s been asking to look in the mirror.

4. Shop for a new rug for the living room.

5. Hang the hanging bar in the laundry room.

6. DIMMERS! Dining room, living room, hallways, walk in closet, bathroom!
