I spent the better part of the day today cleaning the house, wrapping presents, and getting ready for the onslaught of Christmas cheer that will surely ensue starting next week. This is Beckett’s first Christmas where he is excited about Santa, and has verbally told us what he wants Santa to bring him for Christmas.
Here is what the list looks like:
- A 4 wheeler.
- Cleo & T-Bone
- A doctor’s kit.
A very sweet and modest list from a very good little boy.
This list has been a steady source of conversation over the past month, and he is unwaivering about what he wants Santa to bring. I was smart in November, and ordered the Cleo & T-Bone from Scholastic, and I found the doctor’s kit at Toys R Us the day after Thanksgiving, but we’re having a hard time finding the 4 wheeler.
I remember last year when we bought his little 4 wheeler (which by the way is the best toy ever- he’s ridden it every single day since last Christmas), we got it a few weeks before Christmas, and all of the big boy versions were sold out. And I knew I should have bought this thing back in October, but hey, it’s Christmas. Tis the season to procrastinate.Â
So, now we’re in a little bit of a bind. All of the Power Wheels Kawasaki 4 wheelers are sold out. And not just in the stores, but they’ve all been sold out online as well. Or they’re “In Stock”, but won’t be shipped for 2-6 weeks. Um, Christmas Eve is next weekend. 2-6 weeks is not going to work for me, thank you very much.
Basil and I have been discussing what we’re going to do if we’re not able to get one before Christmas Eve, and our best idea so far is to BORROW the 4 wheeler from my nephew, and have it by the tree on Christmas morning, and then when they’re back in stock we can buy one and give him a surprise upgrade from Santa a few weeks after Christmas.Â
We are the worst Santas ever. So, I’m publicly putting out a Kawasaki vibe. If the toy Gods happen to be reading…please deliver a 4 wheeler to the Anderson Toys R Us before Christmas. Pretty please.
