This is the reflection in the mirror that I normally avoid. But today, I looked, because I needed to see if I was actually still in there.



Sometimes the most unflattering photos are the ones that seem the most honest of me. This is one of those photos that I can look at, and say, “Yeah, that’s the real me.”



I put on a big show. Always smiling, always optimistic, the VP of Happiness. But when nobody is looking, I’m plain. My lips aren’t dark brown, and my complexion is ruddy. I don’t always have a twinkle in my eye.



But I’ll try to keep up the facade. Because you deserve it.

Friday Night in the Galaxy Hot Tub

Beckett’s favorite thing for me to play with him is Star Wars characters. He opens up his Complete Visual Star Wars Dictionary to the cover pages, which are printed with a large blue picture of the Death Star. That’s our play space.


Lately, Beckett has been running to the kitchen and bringing back a festive snowman bowl, and calling it “the hot tub”.

Here sit Boba Fett, Yoda, and a Tuscan Raider on a typical Friday night in the Galaxy Hot Tub. We really know how to party around here.

*Note: These are authentic Star Wars characters from the 70s. My mother never throws anything away, God love her.

Down By the Bay Where the Watermelons Grow

We have reached a new low in the iTunes store. We now own a Raffi track.

Beckett spontaneously sang this song tonight from beginning to end, and was so delightful and inspiring that we searched out the song online and downloaded it for our iPods.
