I got an email this morning from Lee, telling me that my dear dear dearest friend Robert has been diagnosed with cancer. Robert was the Matron of Honor at my wedding.

It looks like he is facing a year of chemo and surgery.

This is Robert with Tilda. Isn’t he a hunk? Robert, I mean. Tilda? Not so much.

Please please please pray for Robert. He’s going to need it. And God knows how much the world needs Robert.

Only 4 more days before the www.laptopgiving.org Give 1 Get 1 Campaign begins.

I am trying to raise enough money to participate in the campaign as part of my 2008 New Year’s Resolution to develop 3 educational activities for the XO laptop. Starting on November 12th (and ending around Nov 20th), One Laptop Per Child - laptop.org - will be running a GIVE ONE GET ONE campaign. And I am BEGGING for money to participate in this incredibly important campaign against global poverty.

I have committed to developing 3 Education Activity Games to contribute to the One Laptop Per Child project in 2008. (More if I can!)

1. Humanities- I will be creating a global paper dolls project that allows kids to explore people and cultures around the world through interactive computer play.
2. Math- I will be creating an interactive dice game based on Feed the Kitty, but with a few suprises!
3. Geography & Humanities- I will be creating a map centered game where students can “Dig” their way from their home country to another country to explore geography, culture, people, and art.

The laptop sent to me will be used to develop and test content and applications, and to see the games as the kids who will be using them do.
