I love how Beckett and Camper John both have the same expression as the dragon in this picture.
Camper John is a friend of Basil’s who for a few months lived in the camper in our backyard. When he first moved in, Beckett would want to go play in the camper, and we would tell him, “No, honey, you can’t go in there. John is in there right now.” And Beckett would jump up and down and cry, “Uncle John is in there? Why can’t I go see Uncle John?”
My brother’s name is John. So, we realized we had John confusion. The nickname Camper John was born. And it’s stuck ever since.
