Today is not my wedding anniversary. But today is the day that Basil and I will be celebrating our 7th wedding anniversary. You see, when we picked our wedding date, Basil failed to mention that it was going to fall during the Stanley Cup finals every. single. year! This year since the Red Wings are in the finals (as they have been most of the years we have been married, Go Wings ahem) we have to celebrate on a non-game night. Our actual anniversary is on June 2nd, Monday night; Game 5 between the Penguins. These are the kinds of things you overlook for the love of your life. Look at those eyes. How could I ever say no to that man?



So, today we are spending the day leisurely making our way to Asheville, where we will be having dinner at Laughing Seed Cafe and then spending the night at my mother’s place in Hendersonville. A whole day alone together with no work, planning, or distractions. Yippee!

Beckett had his first Field Day at school. Here he is with Harper, working the puck. His daddy is so proud, and convinced he is going to be a future Red Wing.



Oh, and GO RED WINGS! Tonight is Game 3 against the Penguins. So far the Wings have had 2 shut out games. Going for number 3 tonight. Woot!

Wyatt is the spitting image of The Dalton side of the family. And he is just about the sweetest little boy I’ve ever had the pleasure to know. I felt very lucky this day when he let me pick him up and play airplane and upside down with him. And we fed Bitty Bit together.
